COVID Precautions
All Longmont Yarn Shoppe staff including instructors are all fully vaccinated. Masks are optional at the current time.  Participants in classes and handwork gatherings must show proof of being fully vaccinated to participate.  We continue to disinfect, check staff temperatures and practice good handwashing.

Longmont Yarn Shoppe will be celebrating Hot August Knits with our featured yarn dyer Jennifer Miller of Theodora’s Pearls based in Longmont, CO.  This year we are featuring her new DK base, “Ocean”, and a knit and crochet pattern to go with this new base. 

In-Store Events

Friday, July 29th & Saturday, July 30th from 10am – 3pm – Join us as we welcome Lisa and Bob Prive of The Bee Skep to Longmont Yarn Shoppe for 2 days of Fun with Punch Needle! We are so lucky to have them coming to Longmont to share their talents and their products. Lisa and Bob will be bringing along lots of their Ultra Punch and Punch Needle Rug Hooking Kits, providing demos, and having a great time with our LYS community.

Saturday, July 30th – Dye your own yarn with Jennifer Miller – 40-minute appointments between 10 am and 12:30 pm for groups of 8 to try their hand at dyeing yarn with an expert.  Visit the LYS website for details and to register.  

Saturday, August 6th & Sunday, August 7th – Theodora’s Pearls Trunk Show 

Saturday, August 13th, 12pm – 3pm – We welcome Cheri Paxon of PAX Knits who will be demonstrating and dyeing indigo and cochineal during the Hot August Knits Yarn Crawl.

Bring your clean and ready-to-dye hank (not ball) of yarn and watch Cheri demonstrate for you how these processes work. Bring one skein and choose one method, or 2 skeins and do one of each. Longmont Yarn Shoppe has fiber available for purchase if you wish.

The cost is $10.00 for each skein dyed by Cheri. This is a drop-in event. Fiber is available for purchase if you wish.

Saturday, August 13th, 1pm – 3pm – Punch Needle Rug Hooking Make and Take. Let Rebecca of Storyteller Wool show you the ins and outs of Punch Needle Rug Hooking.

Saturday, July 30^th at 9 am Christianna, Gail & Jennifer will be introducing the 2022 LYS Crawl Knit & Crochet Patterns in Theodora’s Pearls Ocean.

Sundays at 4pm – year-round we host “Fiber at 4” Join Longmont Yarn Shoppe every Sunday at 4pm MST for an exclusive Live Facebook learning & shopping event from the comfort of your home! You can get your virtual passport stamp at the end of both of these Fiber at 4 events!

Sunday August 7^th – Yarns and Kits by Theodora’s Pearls 

We look forward to your visit and will keep the fridge stocked with cold water for you to enjoy.   You are welcome to drop in for a quick visit or sit and knit or crochet on the couch or back tables if a class is not in progress.  We would love to have you meet our community on Tuesdays from 1 – 3 pm when we gather for Community Handwork.  You are also invited to join us for Casual Crochet in the Park on August 3rd from 11:30 – 1:30 – hosted by Andee Graves.  

During the crawl, we will have door prizes and will also give away a $50 gift certificate.
