FAQ

How Does the Yarn Crawl Work?
  • Start at any participating shop. You will receive a passport and the opportunity to purchase a fun shopping bag for $10.00.  With the purchase of a collectible bag, you’ll also receive a Hot August Knits pin and a pin from each shop.
  • Enter into a drawing for a $50 gift certificate from the store you are visiting. (Yes, you can enter ALL of them!)
  • Your passport can be downloaded and printed from the website.  Make sure your passport gets stamped at every shop you visit!
  • Once you have visited all participating shops, turn in your fully stamped passport at your last stop to enter for one of ten grand prize drawings for baskets filled with special somethings from many of your favorite yarn companies.
  • No purchase necessary! All you need to do to enter is get your passport stamped when you visit a participating store.
How do I win a prize?
  • Must have all 10 official stamps to be eligible to enter Grand Prize/First Prize drawings.
  • Official stamps can only be obtained July 29 – August 15, 2017 . You must turn in your entry card at the last shop visited.
When will I know if I won a prize?
  • Grand Prize/First Prize drawings will be held approximately 2 weeks after the end of the Yarn Crawl. It takes a few days for us to meet and put all the entries together to draw for the prizes. There are ten grand prizes available.
Can I bring children and can they participate in the crawl?
  • Yes and yes. Children under 12 should be accompanied by an adult.
Can I have my friend get my passport stamped if I can’t make it to all the stores?
  • No, you must be present at the shops to have your passport stamped.
If I win a prize, how will I be contacted?
  • You will be called on the phone number you have given to us on your passport. We will also tag you on social media if you use it. Note: if you win prize during the Hot August Knits Yarn Crawl, you are giving us permission to use your image and your name in future advertising and promotion of the yarn crawl.
